Steve Bouchier. director, conductor and founder of the "Desert Valley Winds" is a life long musician.  He holds a degree in music education from Lea College, Albert Lea, Minnesota and did graduate studies at Mankato State University and Vandercook College of Music.

A former band director at Hancock High School in Minnesota, he directed the H.S. concert band, marching band, jazz ensemble including elementary and junior high instrumental music programs.

Steve has performed in his college's symphonic band, jazz lab band, Broadway musical shows, and the Austin Symphony Orchestra while in college.  He was, also, a member of the prestigious " Mid-American Inter - Collegiate Band.

Steve has been a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Arizona Band, the Ahwatukee Foothills Concert Band and the Zolltrane Jazz Orchestra.  He currently is a trumpet player in the Chandler/Gilbert Community College Band.
